Bodhi Salt Yoga Teachers
Meet Chelsea Carr, RYT 200:
Tell us about the evolution of your Yoga practice:
“I originally found Yoga at my local gym when I was 18 years old. My goals when I started were purely physical, but I quickly realized that there was so much more to Yoga than just the movement. It took me a little while to find a teacher that really resonated with me, but once I did, I realized the incredible spiritual side of the practice. It's been about 13 years now, and although the first years were a little inconsistent, it has now become my lifestyle. I am a happier, more peaceful, more intentional and just an all-around better person the more time I spend on my mat.”
What’s one piece of advice you would share with a student new to Yoga?:
“Keep showing up. It's going to feel really awkward and out of touch at first, but keep at it,
and I promise it will change your life.”
Why do you teach Yoga?
“Since I found Yoga, I have connected more deeply with myself and the world around me. I've always felt that I was a compassionate person that was able to hold space for people, and Yoga is a place where I can play on these strengths, whilst sharing something that I really love. The practice of Yoga has transformed my whole being and has truly shaped my human experience for the better; I just want to share that same bliss with the people around me.”
Chelsea’s favorite inspirational quote:
“I understand now that I’m not a mess, but a deeply feeling person in a messy world.
I explain that now, when someone asks me why I cry so often: ‘For the same reason I laugh so often – because I’m paying attention.’”
