Bodhi Salt Yoga Teachers

Eve Cowan

Eve grew up in a small farming community in Minnesota and pursued theater and art in college. She received her BFA through New York University in 2010 and shortly after took her first Yoga Teacher Training. Throughout her life she’s worked as a nanny, youth group leader, preschool teacher, infant caregiver, and theater and dance director. She now humbly dedicates herself solely to sharing in the tradition of Yoga with our local community. Her creative interests lend themselves to her unique teaching style in which she combines Yoga philosophy, wise sequencing, and heartfelt inspiration. Eve leads classes that are powerful, playful, and intuitively guided. She celebrates her students as active initiators in their own personal Yoga journey and empowers her students to leave the mat feeling motivated, connected, and deeply nourished.

Meet Eve Cowan, E-RYT 500:

Tell us about the evolution of your Yoga practice:

“I practiced Yoga here and there in high school and college, always appreciating the peace of mind and good stretch of the postures. It wasn’t until I took a trip to India with my acting troupe that I truly fell in love with the practice. Upon my return, I took to my yoga mat and a whirlwind of transformation began to take place. Changing my inner world changed my outer world and before long I found myself in my first teacher training. I came to learn and know myself in a way I never had before - Yoga has a way of reminding us who we truly are. Since then, I’ve traveled to many studios across the country and learned from many amazing teachers, all of whom inspire my teachings today.”

What’s one piece of advice you would share with a student new to Yoga?:

“Start where you're at and come to the mat exactly as you are. Trust the process: it's a Yoga practice, not a Yoga “perfect." Authenticity is your superpower!”

Why do you teach Yoga?

“I teach because I must; it is my dharma, my life’s purpose. Yoga has supported me through so many life changes and continues to offer healing and guidance as I walk my path. To honor the tradition, and all the teachers who inspired, supported, and guided me, I hope to pass on all that I’ve been blessed to receive.

Eve’s favorite inspirational quote:

“Yoga is not a work-out, it is a work-in. And this is the point of spiritual practice; to make us teachable; to open up our hearts and focus our awareness so that we can know what we already know and be who we already are.”
