Mikiko Arias

Mikiko was born in Aomori, Japan. While living there, she lost hearing in both of her ears, and turned to yoga to find some peace through her struggles. In 2016, after the massive transformation yoga brought to her life, Mikiko decided to become an instructor and share the magic gifts of this practice with others. She received her 200hr YTT, and then expanded upon that knowledge and got certified in yin, restorative, yoga sculpt, trauma informed yoga, sound bath, and breath coaching. Her students will leave class feeling a sense of peace and rejuvenation, while feeling grounded to take on the challenges in their life.

Meet Mikiko Arias, RYT 500

Tell us about the evolution of your Yoga practice:

Back in 2013 living in Japan, I took my first yoga class and I felt complete peace of mind. At that time I had just lost hearing in both ears, and needed a guide to help me through my struggles.  Yoga has inspired me to feel grounded and has given me mental, emotional, and physical balance. Due to the magic of yoga, I decided to become a yoga instructor in 2016 to share its absolute beauty.

What’s one piece of advice you would share with a student new to Yoga?:

Do your practice and all is coming. Trust the process and do not rush.
Enjoy every stage of your practice.

Why do you teach Yoga?

I teach yoga to share it's beauty and magic with my students. Yoga has saved my life and provided my soul with the reconstruction it required.

Mikiko’s favorite inspirational quote:

“Wabi - Sabi”

Based on the Japanese philosophy meaning “Beauty in imperfection “.

It’s a way of living that focuses on finding beauty and serenity within the imperfections of life, nature, objects, landscapes, designs, etc. and accepting peacefully the natural cycle of growth and decay.

We are imperfectly perfect ! Life is moment to moment.
Be you and enjoy your every stage of your life .
